Fees

A mid 19th century double barrelled percussion rifle/shotgun made for the American market, 47" overall, barrels 30½”, with 20 bore twist barrel and .36" plain barrel with hexagonal rifling, small rearsight and elaborate blade fore sight; back action locks naively engraved with game birds and signed “BELL, LONDON”; trigger guard with spur grips and housing double set triggers, the butt having cheekpiece, engraved GS mount with circular patch box, and inlaid with star, crescent, hearts etc. GWO & generally GC (worn and partly refinished overall). The majority of Bells listed are American makers, and the general appearance and workmanship suggests an American origin, the “London”on the locks being added for prestige. £650-750
