A French M1842 Yataghan sword bayonet and scabbard, the 57cm blade inscribed 'Manufacture Imperiale de Chatellerault, Nov 1854'.
Blade rusting, with pitting and signs of cleaning. Steel mounts rusted. Brass grip dented and scratched. Guard appears to have been overpainted at some point. Some minor shallow dents to scabbard. Serial number is not visible on scabbard.
