A most interesting postal history coln covering the Irish Independence movement, incl covers and cards from before the Easter Rising to the Troubles, noting 1889 National Protest against the Coercion of Ireland petition stationary card, 1914 Anti Home Rule 'Maintain the Union' label on propaganda leaflet, 1916 Easter Rising censored cover to India and two cards cancelled with emergency obliterators, a further 1d cancelled on piece, 1923 OHMS covers with Gaelic ovpts, 1946 cover with 'PARTITION / MUST GO' label on reverse, 1958 Curragh Camp IRA 'Border War' prisoner cover addressed to Seán Cronin (IRA Chief of Staff) and marked in violet 'SEADAITHE AG AN GOINSIRE MILEATA' (Damaged by the military police), 1970s HMP Maze prisoner covers (x2), etc. A diverse range of early to modern propaganda labels (with the odd forgery) incl unofficial Republican and Unionist ovpts, Sinn Fein labels and many others. Also incl 'The Political and Propaganda Labels Related to Ireland and Her History' by Heinz-Jurgen Kumpf. Well worth viewing. (2V)
