A Chinese bronze statue of Wenchang Wang, late Ming dynasty. The Taoist deity of culture and literature depicted wearing a long flowing robe and headdress seated on a throne. Traces of gilding on red lacquer present. 16 cm height.
Condition report: Some age related wear. Considerable loss to the gilding and lacquer as illustrated. Two old splits present to one leg.
