George Lilanga (Tanzanian, 1934-2005). Contemporary African acrylic on board entitled 'Nenda Na' & dated 1999. Much influenced by the traditional art of the Makonde peoples of East Africa where he himself studied, practiced & honed his art forms. Lilanga is one of the most influential artists to come out of Africa in the 20th century with his work adorning important collections across the globe including the The Contemporary African Art Collection (CAAC) & Hamburg Mawingu Collection (HM9C) to mention just a couple.
