A worksplate, VULCAN, 5539, 1947, from a LNER B1 Class 4-6-0 No 1181 built in July 1947, becoming BR 61181 in March 1949. It spent almost all its working life at Darnall, with a final short stay at March from where it was withdrawn in November 1963. Following withdrawal it was transferred to Departmental Stock in November 1963 as Departmental No 18 for use as a stationary boiler for carriage heating. It was condemned in December 1965 and sold for scrap to Garnham, Harris & Elton of Chesterfield. Cast brass, 9"x5¼", the front repainted.
