A GEORGE III SILVER SWING-HANDLED BREAD BASKET
by Robert Hennell, London 1783, oval form, pierced and engraved with foliate decoration and slats, beaded borders and swing-handle, the centre with a crest, on a raised pierced oval foot. 35.5cm long, 23.9 troy ounces
The crest is that of Harward of Surrey.
The marks are clear. The handle hinges well and holds position. The basket wobbles a little on the foot. In generally good condition commensurate with age and use.
