Victorian 1st VB King’s Liverpool Regiment Officer’s Levee Rifle Pattern Sword.
A rare example of the pattern. The single edged narrow blade is etched with a Crowned VR cypher, regimental title “1st Vol Batt. The Liverpool Regt”. Also entwined initials. The guard of the hilt incorporating a Victorian crowned strung bugle device. Housed in correct steel scabbard with two loose rings. Etching to blade VGC and clear, wear to the plating of the hilt and scabbard.
