Star Lot: A magnificent early 20th century oil on panel painting featuring a traditional landscape scene of men fishing at a watermill in a wooded area with waterfall in the background. Rendered in finely blended brushstrokes enhancing the mist rolling down the mountains, with lovely detail achieved in the foliage. Initialed G. M. bottom left and dated to 1793. Lack of craquelure would suggest painting is more modern. Housed in a fabulous heavy solid stained oak frame with gilt matting.
