A late 19th/early 20th century ships copper masthead lantern, with a brass swing handle above a brass masthead plaque and bow front lens, 51cm high
The copper shows varying degrees of oxidation, patination and discolouration, possibly due to use of inappropriate cleaning materials. The body shows various small dents and distortions commensurate with age and use. The are various areas of white residue, possibly paint, to the body and the lens. The lens shows hairline cracks to the left hand side, but has not been removed, so other issues may be present. The interior has been later fitted with an electric lamp holder, but will require full rewiring before use.
