Second Somerset Militia Victorian waist belt clasp circa 1856-81. Good scarce brass interlocking example. Circlet inscribed SECOND SOMERSET MILITIA; 47 to lined centre; plain belt loops. Some service wear. GC Originally raised 22nd March 1759 at Bath. Redesigned as 2nd Somerset Light Infantry on 12th February 1876 and became the 4th Bn. of the Somerset Light Infantry on 1st July 1881. Provenance : Bosleys January 2009, Lot 638.
