£250 - £300
An early 19c large French mantel clock, the rectangular mahogany case having a 24cm diam silvered dial with Roman numerals and moon hands. The dial is flanked by Egyptian caryatid figures and the top of the case has a pointed architectural plinth decorated with gilt line and flambeau finials. The case sides have fish scale frets and base has brass ball feet. The later rectangular French movement is rack striking on a bell and the clock stands 64cm tall overall.
The movement is later and dates from c.1860. It is in good condition and seems to have been recently restored. The case is in good condition although the dial plate may have had to be replaced to accommodate the newer movement, it has been well done.
