ENGLISH SEALED & DATED ONION WINE BOTTLE. 5.4 ins. tall. Barnacle covered professionally reconstructed sealed onion dived off the Devon/ Cornish coast. Body seal seems to be Thomas Adam 1716? If so, not listed in Burton. A Thomas Adams Snr, Chaplain to the Dowager Countess of Clare, is noted on page 571 of Burton but that seal is dated 1714 & no image available to compare. Possibly an affordable early dated form with huge character. No condition rating given the rebuild. NR.
