A VERY RARE 1999 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 90 WINTERISED, WATERPROOF WOLF FFR HARDTOP made for use as a landing craft for the Royal Marines. This is a high-spec version of the Wolf that was made to operate at extreme temperatures as low as minus 46°C & is capable of a wading depth of 1.5m. Fitted with its original 2.5L 300TDI engine, raised air intake with breather, and Webasto heater running three radiators, two in the rear tub and one under the front passenger seat. This model benefits from the heavy-duty chassis and axles, front & rear disc brakes, power steering & thermal insulation. This has also had the REMUS upgrade which included full Dinitrol chassis treatment, sound deadening flooring & a full internal roll cage. The removable fibreglass hardtop is fitted with an escape hatch, ski rack & side-mounted spare wheel. This model was originally fitted out as a radio vehicle (FFR) but was converted to a personnel carrier having twin bench seats fitted making it a more practical 6-seater variant. The Hardtop Winter Wader is said to be the rarest of all the Wolf variants with only approximately 50 being produced. This model will be 25 years old in 2024 and as it has its original engine unlike others that have come on the market, it will be eligible for export to the USA, a market where they are very sought after.
