Postal History.  1939-40 pair of covers to England showing the different routes necessitated by the war.  The 1939 cover (from Larnaca) with Cyprus Censor 1; travelled via Lydda and Cairo (Censor 54).  The 1940 cover (from Famagusta) with Cyprus Censor 18, partially overstruck by Palestine Censor, marked ‘By Air to Durban’; travelled by air to Durban, thence by sea to England.  Also 1940 Italy to Malta cover, redirected to Cyprus in error and returned to Malta with markings including censors of Malta (2), Cyprus #10 and Egypt.  Ex Ian Warn
