France. 1854-55 Baltic British Medal and 1870/71 Franco-Prussian War Medal attributed to Lieutenant Charles Alexandre "Trudon des Ormes" who was killed in action at the Battle of Coulmiers 9th November 1870 during one of the few French victories during the Franco-Prussian War, Baltic with contact marks and edge bruising.
With original War Ministry commissioning scroll appointing him a Sous-Lieutenant in the 48th Regiment d'infanterie de ligne dated 22nd October 1853.
Also with original War Ministry statement of service es confirming he was promoted Lieutenant 28/6/56 and D'Emissionaire 18/5/61, served in the Campaign of 1854 Corps expeditionnaire De La Baltique and awarded la medaille de S.M. la Reine d'Angleterre (expedition de la Baltique), this dated 19/10/65. A rare documented Baltic Medal to a French recipient who was later killed in action.The documents have been folded and one is partially torn along the fold.
With 5 pages of copied family history, he was born 12/11/31 in Moulins, married in 1862 etc. (B)
