Heavy Post Medieval Gold Posy Ring. Circa 17th century AD. Gold, 9.79 grams. 21.30 mm. UK ring size, M. US size, 7. A D-shaped band with the inscription, "Rather dy then faith deni".
Posy rings were often gifts exchanged by lovers and the messages engraved on the unseen side are an evocative insight into the past. These rings were also used as betrothal and wedding rings.
