A .295" semi smooth bore hammerless boxlock ejector Rook Rifle by Holland & Holland, number 13698, 43" overall, octagonal barrel 26", with folding rearsights and engraved "Holland & Holland, 98 New Bond St, London. .295 SEMI SMOOTHBORE" and "Winner of the FIELD RIFLE TRIALS. Patent No 1294", with rounded scroll engraved frame having side safety, walnut stock with chequered fore end and pistol grip and horn fore end cap. GWO & C, the barrel retaining traces of original finish (minor wear to stock, side safety appears not to work). £750-850
