An Antique Victorian Diamond and Gem-Set 'Giardinetto' Brooch/Pendant,
designed as a basket of flowers, the flowerheads and leaves set with old cut rubies, emeralds and sapphires, the basket set throughout with old cut diamonds, the diamonds totalling approximately 0.75 carats, unmarked closed back mount tests as silver, 35mm, 10.2g
The diamonds are quite bright and lively with some having a slight yellow tint. The rubies and sapphire have a vivid colour saturation. The emeralds vary slightly in saturation. The mount has general wear to the high points and a later soldered pendant loop on the backing but no damage. Overall in good condition.
