MOVIES/R.M.S. TITANIC: The original screen used violin played by Jonathan Evans-Jones when he played the part of Titanic bandmaster Wallace Hartley in James Cameron's blockbuster movie Titanic. The instrument can be seen multiple times in the movie and during the sequence of the Titanic sinking and Nearer My God To Thee being played. It was auctioned in 2013 by Mr Evans-Jones in this auction room and has been in the possession of the vendor since he purchased it. The violin comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
