1822 / 46 Pattern Sword for General and Staff Officers. A good example, the single edged slightly curved blade bearing etched decoration of a crowned entwined VR cypher and floral decoration; on the reverse is a General Officers device. To the forte of the blade the retailers details of Buckmaster & Co London. Gilt brass three bar open guard again with General Officer device and folding guard. Shagreen grip with twist wire binding. Housed in polished brass scabbard with two loose rings. Etching to the blade remains very clean and clear.
