- Original and unrestored period classic racing trails bike
The firm was founded by Bert Greeves (MBE) in 1951 as Greeves Motorcycles Ltd. By 1956 Greeves had signed motocross rider Brian Stonebridge, a gifted 2-stroke engine tuning specialist, later to become the company Competitions Manager and Race Development Engineer.
In 1957 Brian Stonebridge managed to beat the much larger and more powerful 500cc machines on a tuned Greeves at Hawkstone Park.
The next Greeves model produced was named the ‘Hawkstone‘ and the company would have a string of successes with riders such as Peter Hammond, Jack Simpson and Norman Sloper. The Hawkstone went on to take the 1960 and 1961 250cc championship with works rider Dave Bickers.
This lovely historic race bike has been left exactly as it was when coming back from its last race. A genuine, original and unrestored example of this classic trials bike.
