Interesting late 18th/early 19th century violoncello with inked purfling, probably English, the two piece back of very faint broad curl with similar wood to the sides, the head of plainish wood, the table of a medium width grain widening to the flanks and the varnish of a reddish-brown colour on a golden ground, 29 5/8", 75.90cm, bow, hard case
This violoncello has a table sound post and other cracks, the table is also depressed around the area of the bridge, the back has a patched repaired sound post crack, several other cracks also. This bow is in excellent condition. See images for guidance, personal viewing advised.
