WW2 British Army Officers 1897 pattern sword with single edged fullered blade with Proof mark and etched decoration, retailers/makers mark "Alkitt Ltd, Cambridge Circus, London WC2", 82cm in length. Guard with GVI crest. Wire bound shagreen grip. Overall length 98cm. Complete with scabbard: Along with a 1822 pattern British Artillery officers sword with single edged fullered blade with proof mark, remains of etched decoration can just be seen, 86cm in length. Guard is broken. Damaged to grip. Overall length 102cm. (2)

More Information

Surface rust and some pitting overall to both examples. Guard to 1822 pattern is broken, grip damaged. Grind marks to edge of blade. Relic condition. The leather covering to the scabbard is coming apart at the seams due to shrinkage.
