A William IV 19th century mahogany & brass mounted reading cock fighting chair in the manner of Morgan & Sanders. The armchair designed to be used by a reader sitting astride the chair, facing towards its back. The chair having an attached adjustable reading slope to back with brass rail to the C scrolled chair's back. Sliding inkwell compartment to side. Neoclassical back slats with fan shaped detailing to sides. Horseshoe shaped leather seat to accommodate the sitter’s legs. Raised on carved reeded supports with brass castors to ends. Measures approx. 81cm x 62cm x 64cm.
