Montenegrin double action Gasser revolver, circa 1880, double-action, chambered in 11.3×36mmR, 5 in. sighted round barrel, top-break frame, 5-shot cylinder, nickel finish with polished bone grips and lanyard ring, scroll-engraved frame and cylinder, frame stamped ‘VERO MONTENINGRIN / GUSS-STAHL / PATENT / EXTRA QUALITE’ matching serial numbers 265960, the break mechanism is missing the leaf-spring from one side, making it difficult to open, 11 ½ in. overall. As a small country with limited armed forces, in 1910 King Nicholas I proclaimed that all male citizens were to be members of a national militia and must own at least one Gasser revolver. The title 'Montenegrin Gasser' covers a variety of large calibre revolvers of the Gasser pattern. Obsolete Calibre, no licence required
