Medals: A Second China War 1856-60 Medal, awarded to DAVID KAY 26TH REGT, (officially impressed). Sold together with professional research material including a copy of his Service Papers and extracts from the Muster Rolls.

**His Service Papers show that he transferred from the 26th Regiment to the Royal Canadian Rifles while serving in Canada and took his discharge from them. The extracts from the Muster Rolls show that, with the 26th Regt, he served in the 1st China Wars but was with the Royal Canadian Rifles during the 2nd China Wars. This leads one to believe that the above medal could be a late claim or a reclaim for a lost medal, and issued in error for an 1842 Medal, as he would probably have been awarded a clasp for the second conflict.
