A scarce 3 barrelled 150 bore tap action flintlock boxlock pocket pistol, by Whalley, Macclesfield, c 1800, 6" overall, turn off barrels 1¾", the muzzles starred to take a barrel key, the lower breech with Tower private proofs, top two breeches numbered 1 and 2; the frame engraved with trophies and signed in ovals, trigger guard with floral spray; with top safety which secures the frizzen, raised pan, rollers on the frizzen spring, and dark walnut butt with shield shaped vacant escutcheon.
