A John Ridgway florally painted dessert service, 19th century, comprising twelve plates, 23cm diameter, a tall twin handled comport or tazza, 22.5cm high, and five smaller comports of various heights, the tallest 15.5cm high, each piece with pierced shaped rim and moulded floral detail, the comports with pierced knop and pierced domed foot, red painted pattern number '6/6974' to bases (18) (at fault)
One plate shows extensive repairs. One plate shows losses and repairs. One plate shows craze lines to the well. The tall tazza shows a repaired crack running across the dish and down the stem. One of the smaller tazzas shows an open repaired crack to the dish. Another smaller tazza shows crazing to the underside. All pieces show surface wear including fine surface scratching and rubbing to the gilt highlights.
