British 'Mail Coach' brass barrelled flintlock Blunderbuss. By (Jonathan) Stanton, apprentice to his uncle, William Turvey in 1739. Free of the Gun makers Company in 1747. Successor to William Turvey from 1748, next to Furnival Inn, Holborn, London. Elected Assistant to the Gun makers Company in 1761, then Master in 1765, died 1766. A superb, not messed about with piece.
