CALENDAR MEDAL. 1728, by John Weet, 42mm, brass, see Ackerman nos. 15 to 17, VF. Nothing is known of him and this was the only year he produced a calendar medal. The use of "XMAS" on the obverse is the first recorded abbreviation of this kind on a calendar medal. His Easter table is correct until 1752 when the introduction of the Gregorian Calendar rendered it obsolete. ref: Ackerman, "Calendar Medals in the British Museum", The Medal, Autumn 2004.
