A FINE 17TH CENTURY CONTINENTAL (POSSIBLY ITALIAN) EMBROIDERED NEEDLEWORK PANEL ON SILK , HOLY SHROUD OF TURIN (KNOWN AS ‘SACRA SINDONE’
Depicting three ecclesiastical figures, Archbishop and his attendants wearing full church regalia, holding and venerating holy shroud cloth, bearing faint image of the body of Jesus of Nazareth after his crucifixion, worked in silver and silk thread painted faces surrounded by embroidered flowerheads, in giltwood embossed frame.

Condition: good, in accordance with age, some wear and imperfections towards silk border
