18k gold pocket top wind watch retailed by W. Meridith ~
The watch face has a crisp white face with black numerals. The dial is decorated with a intricate botanical motif built up in yellow, rose and white gold with tiny pink and green enamel roses.
The watch back has a large monogram of the initials “E.L.”.
On the reverse of the watch back there is a set of hallmarks (Crown, ‘C’ & 18 – for London 1858) and the letters “AW FT”.
The inside leaf of the watch opens to reveal the mechanism, and another set of hallmarks on the inner lid.
The inside of the watch is very ornate. The screws have a metallic blue finish which contrasts beautifully with the gold. The mechanism surrounds are decorated with beautiful engravings. The inside panel reads..
“No 8628 Merthyr W. Meredith 125 High-Street”

The watch is in perfect working order. The gold has picked up very light surface wear. The face and hands are immaculate.

The watch with its suspension ring is 2.25 inches (6cm) high. The actual face has a diameter of 1.5 inches (4cm).
