A GEORGE III IRISH SILVER SNUFF BOX, of navette form, bright cut borders to cover and sides, the hinged portion of the cover with star shaped cartouche enclosing engraved rearing deer crest and initials, gilt interior, maker James Keating, Dublin 1786, approximate weight 1.8ozt, 58 grams, oval length 8cm x width 4cm x height 2.2cm (condition: split to seam on side at hinged end and to the base section that corresponds, some knocks and dents to the base, gilt interior exhibits wear, marks partially rubbed, cover closes flush and hinge moves freely)
