A 19th century Chinese porcelain flared circular bowl, sparsely painted onglaze with a 'bi' disc of ferocious dragons centred by a flaming pearl, the verso with mythical beast conforming, the sides with a Famille Rose pheasant and a roundel of flowers, the other similar, iron red foliage and ruyi to base, 18cm diam; a similar domed cover, well-painted in polychrome enamels with scholars, archers and children sailing on a lily pad in a stylized landscape of mountains, wild waters and rocky outcrops with trees and flowering foliage, the verso with pink bats, flowers and gilt scrolling characters, 21.5cm diam, red square six-character mark, 19th century [2]
