comprising an officer school watercolour of Allied naval activity off Beirut during the Egyptian-Ottoman War of 1839-41 including a paddle steamer; a French varnished watercolour of a squadron at anchor with paddle tug attending, vessels named along lower edge and signed lower right; a small drawing of Cape Horn dated 1836; three assorted early photographs of naval vessels including H.M.S. Trafalgar at Malta and H.M.S. Aurora at anchor by F. Howard, and a long view of shipping; two fold-out engravings of Tinian from Anson's Voyage of the Centurion; and a pair of engravings on a single sheet entitled in French and English, the latter reading The East syde of the BASS and The Prospect of ye BASS from ye South shore, inscribed in mss to margin ISLE BASSE, Pl. -- 11 x 16in. (28 x 40.5cm.)
