A SUBSTANTIAL VICTORIAN SILVER TEA SET, to include teapot, sugar bowl and milk jug, Maker Martin, Hall & Co (Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall), Shrewsbury Works, Sheffield c.1859. Each piece is finely decorated with a central cartouche reading ‘Palma non sine pulvere’ translating to ‘No reward without effort’; surrounded by elaborate floral scrolling patterns, with scroll handles. Teapot with highly decorative figural spout, eagle finial to lid domed hinged lid, bone inlay to handle, all pieces supported by intricate openwork base standing on engraved scrolling feet.
