£280
A GEORGE III SILVER MUG, maker John Langlands, Newcastle possibly 1773, of single girdled plain tapering cylindrical form with S scroll handle, on a spreading foot, later chased and repousse with scrolling foliate panels, 6" high over handle, 18ozs 6dwts (Est. plus 24% premium inc. VAT)
The date is mis-stamped and appears to be "G", but the maker's mark (on base and handle) is the earlier 1756 mark, foot a little mis-shapen, shame about the later decoration where the "vacant" panel has had some original engraving polished out (so a thin panel)
