A fine Edwardian 1909 travelling picnic tea set, designed by the legendary Dr. Christopher Dresser, with its registered design number clearly impressed Number - 85275 (registered on 18th October 1879) comprising a 1909 spirit burner, stand and spirits, flask, tea and sugar caddies, kettle and teapot with original wicker handles, gilt lined cream jug and sugar bowl, sugar tongs, two teaspoons, further supplied with its two original dark purple and white Royal Worcester porcelain 1909 teacups and saucers (both cups and saucers carry the factory stamps and crests for 1909), with both saucers are complete with their original grey felt support pads, an unusual feature in this very heavy set are the two original rectangular heavy EPNS signed serving trays in fabulous condition, in its original 1909 black carrying case, with front opening doors having a brass catch and leather carrying handle
Fully complete with all its correct fully stamped Christopher Dresser pieces still intact inside its original black leathercloth covered carrying case, lined with grey felt, with two opening doors secured with its original gilt swivel catch, and carrying handle. All still in excellent order after the passing of 115 years. A ‘time-warp’ once in a lifetime treasure - a true Picnic Set ‘Work of Art’. It is a miracle all pieces survive in such totally complete and excellent original condition.
