Collectables. John Pinches 'GREAT BRITISH LOCOMOTIVES' (50) Sterling Silver Ingots. Produced For 'THE NATIONAL RAILWAY MUSEUM' Inaugural Edition.
All 'fifty' fully hallmarked sterling silver proof ingots are fitted in this special designed mahogany style case.
On one side is a locomotive with nameplate, and on the other side information about the railway region and the loco class. Unsure of actual weight of (each Ingot), but I would say individually approximately 30 grams.
Approximately 3mm thick, 48mm length, 25mm wide.
Presentation box measures 61cm length, 24cm wide, 8cm height. These sets were limited and issued to celebrate the opening of The National Railway Museum in 1975.
