George III (1760-1820), Shilling, 1820, laureate head right, toothed outer borders both sides, legend commences from bottom left, GEOR III DG BRITT REX FD, date below truncation. Rev, crowed shield in garter, HONI SOIT MAL Y PENSE surrounds, I in HONI struck over possibly I or T, unrecorded in Bull, only I/S in HONI logged (S.3790; Bull.2160 variety; ESC.1236A). Lustrous rich tone, few contact marks otherwise uncirculated with an interesting over-stamp in the I of Honi within the order of the garter motto, rare.
