A large Limerick lace fan c 1890’s, the leaf designed with a central harp, the remaining leaf a meandering spray of flowers and leaves, contained in a stylized border, mounted on carved black wood, the upper guard with a harp, the gorge with another, guard approx. 31 cm; together with a very large black gauze fan circa 1890’s, the leaf embroidered with silver sequins and edged with black machine lace, wood monture clouté, guard approx. 36cm, and three further wood and paper fans, one with robins on a bough, one with lilac flowers, and a fan with a scene of courtship (5)
The Limerick fan is in good order. The second fan leaf is starting to split and most of the clouté is missing. The courtship fan has a broken guard.
