UNIQUE(?) TRANSATLANTIC COVER WITH RARE LONDON "HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT/S.W." C.D.S.; 5 Aug. 1859 unpaid EL (slight toning) from Birmingham (GB) to Baltimore but posted in London "Per Steamer from Liverpool 6 Aug." with a fine to very fine rare "HOUSES-OF-PARLIAMENT" cds back and front, along with black "19/cents" Accountancy Mark and a mainly fine "N. YORK BR. PACKET/24" transit cds (18 Aug.). This is the only strike of this rare cds that we can recall having seen on a Transatlantic cover.
