An early 20th century opera fan, the leaf a panel of black gauze covered with bright blue sequins, which complement the shading in the dyed mother of pearl monture, having shades of deep blue, lilac and a hint of sea-green, each stick protected at the head with paper washers between each one, guard approx. 20.5 cm, contained in a black card fan box with gilding to the lid and deep purple silk lining (fan + box)
The monture is in good order. Some of the central gorge sticks have become detached from the ribs, and have in doing so damaged the black gauze rear layer slightly.
