After Mary Gaskell Gillick OBE (née Tutin; 1881-1965), "Eve", a patinated sculpture modelled as a seated baby clasping foliage, dated 1934, signed in the cast "M. Gillick MCMXXXIV", probably cast lead, 47cm high
NOTE: A lead "Eve" by Gillick (a companion piece to the previous year's "Adam") was displayed at the Royal Academy in 1934, where it was purchased by Charles Boot. A painted plaster version of this piece was presented to Leeds Art Gallery by the family of Mary Gillick in 2017.
The piece shows surface wear, scrapes and scuffs to the patinated finish, the odd patch of residue, and the odd small casting fault.
