£1,000
A south-west Persia Qashqai rug of very fine quality; circa 1880, decoration of stylised trees and flowers against a rust ground (260cm x 159cm)
Condition is generally commensurate with age. There appears to be no major problems to the main carpet, there are one or two very small minor repairs and there are several small repairs around the very edge of the carpet and border. These are mostly picket up by new tufts/tassels. See images. Otherwise generally looks in good honest in good original condition with no major problems noted. Colours appear to be quite good although there is several thin bars of carpet that appear to be joining up the rest of the design and these bars go “across” the original pattern underneath.
