Good English mahogany double fusee original verge bracket clock, the 7" brass arched dial signed Norton, Ipswich to the foliate engraved silver centre with false bob pendulum aperture, strike/silent dial to the arch, with fine foliate engraved movement back plate, within a stepped case surmounted by a caddy top with four acorn finials and a brass carrying handle, 21" high (pendulum and keys)

** The maker, George Norton, was a clockmaker in Brook Street and later Cornhill in Ipswich. He is recorded as only working as a clockmaker between 1790 and 1795, when he was declared bankrupt

General condition is very good and the case a good colour, there have been some restorations to the wood on the back door surround. See images for guidance, personal viewing always advised where possible.
