(2) Ellen Henrietta Ranyard (née White) (1810–1879) was an English writer, educationalist, missionary, and social reformer who made significant contributions to education and social work in 19th-century London. She is best known for founding the London Bible and Domestic Female Mission in 1857, which sought to improve the lives of impoverished women through religious education and practical assistance (Dudden, 1984).
