Laura Knight (1877-1970) British. A Study of Enrico Cecchetti, Pencil, Signed and inscribed 'Checcetti', and inscribed on a label verso, with further studies of dancers verso, 9.5" x 14.25" (24.1 x 36.2cm). Exhibited: The Diaghilev Ballet; Sainsbury Centre, Norwich; The Fine Art Society 1979-80, London. Notes: Laura Knight made many drawings and subsequent prints of dancers, including several showing the dance school run by Enrico Cecchetti in London. Knight drew so quickly that Cecchetti would seize her drawings and show them to his pupils as evidence of their errors
