An 18th Century believed French or German hunting plug bayonet. Capped metal pommel with ball finial, wooden grip and sweeping crossguard with hound head quillons and a running stag in relief on the knuckle guard. Traces of etched decorations to the double edged blade. Measures approx 59cm.
